Do not use this company if you do do not pay until you get the keys. I booked a car with them and paid online and when our driver went to pick up the car after an hour in the airport they canceled and said they give a refund but no money has come back all our plans have to change we some money on a villa in the city we have to loss a day because they are not reliable. Super, I loved the experience with this company, I rented on-line a Seddan car but at the moment of arriving at the airport Mr. Nelson informed us that he didn't have the vehicle, but instead, he assigned me a mini-SUV for the same price, and it worked out very well.
The car was delivered to us, and we returned it early in the morning as well at the airport.
Mr. Nelson was the one who offered us the service, he was very kind, respectful and very professional person, I loved his service.
Tip: Take a video of the vehicle inside and out, before and after returning it, to record any damage or scratches. Don't forget to check that the vehicle's registration and insurance documents are up to date and with you before start your travel.
Finally, it's annoying when it happens, but if you're traveling in the Dominican Republic, you're bound to be stopped by the police at some point. Just stay calm, be polite, and show your documents. If everything is in order, they won't be able to fine you for anything. This is my second or third time renting from this company and they will be my go to car rental in the DR. The car was as described and process was easy. The staff are professional and courteous. I had a small issue with a door panel, when i reported it to them, they were ready willing and able to come to me for assistance. It was minor and I was able to fix it myself. I decided to rent from this place based on Google reviews. Although I have good status with Avis, after reading reviews here and by seeing that they do not offer comparable service as to what I would expect in other countries when I rent with them, I was looking for the local alternative.And Punta Cana Rent a Car did not disappoint! Communication to start the process was easy, via WhatsApp and my reservation was taken quickly and seriously and vehicle was ready when we arrived. On the day of the rental Nelson texted me and offered to meet near the snack bar, which was very comforting to me not knowing the place (it was my first time landing in Punta Cana) and after reading about all the pressure you are under to get to your car or taxi.Nelson offered to meet, and said to ask for him, that everybody knows him, which was true, so one of the local drivers took us to the place where we could find him. He reassured us that we are at the right spot, and we got our vehicle very quickly. He even offered direction to the best place to exchange US$ to pesos and where the best grocery store is!The vehicle had a bit more mileage on than what I would expect, but it worked well. We were looking for less expensive option, and that’s why we got it, but it was in a good working condition, everything including air conditioning worked well, and we had a good companion to explore the island and visit several public beaches at north and south shore.
