Punta Cana Rent a Car ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights, in line with Dominican Law No. 172-13 on personal data protection and, where applicable, the GDPR.

1. Data we collect

  • Identity and contact: name, email, phone, country, address and date of birth.
  • Rental details: pick-up and return dates and locations, flight and hotel information, vehicle and extras selected.
  • Driver documents: driver license and ID or passport, as required to rent a vehicle.
  • Payment data: payments are processed by PayPal; we receive the transaction status and reference, never your full card number.
  • Communications: messages exchanged with us by email, phone or WhatsApp, including chats with our WhatsApp assistant.
  • Technical data: IP address, device and browser information, cookies and advertising identifiers (such as Google click IDs).

2. Why we use it

  • To create, manage, change and confirm your reservation and to provide the rental.
  • To verify identity and eligibility to drive, and to prevent fraud.
  • To process payments and refunds.
  • To communicate with you about your reservation, including by email and WhatsApp.
  • To improve our website and services and to measure advertising performance.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

3. WhatsApp assistant

Our WhatsApp assistant uses artificial intelligence to answer questions and help with reservations. Messages are transmitted through WhatsApp (Meta) and processed by an AI service provider (Anthropic) to generate responses. Our team may review conversations. Do not send payment card numbers or passwords in chat.

4. Who we share data with

We share data only as needed with: PayPal (payments); Google and Meta (analytics and advertising); our AI provider (WhatsApp assistant); hosting and email providers; and public authorities when required by law. We do not sell your personal data.

5. Cookies

We use cookies for site operation, analytics and advertising. You can accept or reject non-essential cookies through the cookie banner and manage them in your browser settings.

6. Retention

We keep your data for as long as needed for the rental, accounting, legal and dispute-resolution purposes, and then delete or anonymize it.

7. Your rights

Under Law 172-13 you may exercise your rights of access, rectification, cancellation and objection (ARCO). If you are in the EU or UK, you also have rights of erasure, restriction, portability and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. 8. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, but no system is completely secure.
