Do you need a 4×4 for Macao Beach?

The last stretch of road into Macao is unpaved and sandy. A compact sedan can usually make it in dry weather, but after rain — or if you want to park right on the beach — an SUV or 4×4 handles it without drama. Ask us about our 4×4 fleet when you book.

Is Macao Beach good for swimming?

The surf is stronger than Bávaro’s calm, reef-protected water — great for bodyboarding and surfing, but swim with more caution, especially with kids.

Can I drive a regular car to Macao Beach?

In dry conditions, yes, most of the way — but we recommend an SUV or 4×4 for the final unpaved stretch and for parking directly on the sand.

How long should I plan for a Macao Beach day trip?

Most guests spend 3–5 hours. Sunrise (for the light and the surf) and mid-afternoon tend to be the quietest times.

Is delivery to Macao free?

We deliver to your resort or Airbnb anywhere in the Punta Cana area at no charge as long as pickup and return are at the same address. A fee applies for one-way rentals with different pickup and return points — ask us for a quote when you book.
